Course Objective
To assist secondary 3 students who want to improve their understanding of A Maths topics taught in this year during this December 2013 holiday before starting the next work year for 2014 GCE O level examination.
Course Content (based on 2014 syllabus)
- Revise topics covered in Sec 3
a. Solving Simultaneous equations (Substitution and Inverse Matrix methods)
b. Quadratic equations and inequalities
c. Polynomials (Remainder and Factor Theorems, Solving cubic equations)
d. Partial Fractions
e. Indices and Surds
f. Exponential and logarithmic functions
g. Modulus functions
h. Coordinates Geometry
i. Binomial Expansions
- Clarify concepts, common mistakes, solving methods
- Practise solving the “Must-Know” questions
- Discuss worked solutions and key learning points
Who Should Attend
Students Sec 3 (2013)/Sec 4 (2014). Participants are to bring along Additional Maths text book, work book, test/examination papers and calculators for the workshop.
